Course Objective:

This entry-level course in Steam Engineering prepares students for the Massachusetts state licensing exam for high-pressure boiler operation. A Massachusetts state license is required for employment in operating high-pressure boilers

The program can be completed in just 10 weeks.

Course Outline:

  • Theory and operation of boilers
  • Construction and design of boilers
  • Steam systems and their controls
  • Water supply systems and their controls
  • Fuel systems and their controls
  • Draft and flue gas systems
  • Operation and maintenance of boilers
  • Relevant national and local codes and regulations for boilers and pressure vessels

Schedule: Day or Evening two days per week.
