Description

This continuing education course is designed for individuals employed in facility maintenance who wish to develop foundational welding skills.

Course Objectives

In this introductory welding course, students will learn basic welding theory and techniques, emphasizing safety procedures for welding and cutting operations.

The program can be completed in 8 weeks.

Course Outline

  • Introduction to Stick Welding
  • Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
  • Introduction to MIG Welding
  • Introduction to Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
  • Techniques for Welding Plates and Pipes
  • Practice in Flat, Vertical, and Horizontal Positions for Plates and Pipes

Schedule: Two days or nights per week.
